I think of Australia as a continent unto itself — turquoise reefs give way to crimson desert, and cosmopolitan cities sit at the edge of ancient, untamed wilderness. It's a trip I love planning.
I always tell clients the Great Barrier Reef is one of the natural world's last true wonders — a living structure visible from space, home to thousands of species of coral and marine life. I love arranging days that mix snorkeling over technicolor reefs in the morning with sailing the Whitsunday Islands' powder-white sands in the afternoon.
Inland, I send clients to the Outback for its vast, humbling scale. Uluru shifts color through the day and is sacred ground for the Anangu people — one of the most striking sights I know. I always recommend a night beneath the Outback sky, free of light pollution, to see the Milky Way in full.
Sydney and Melbourne offer a completely different rhythm — harborside dining, world-class art, and a coffee culture that rivals anything in Europe. Further south, I love routing clients along the Great Ocean Road past dramatic limestone stacks and hidden coves, and Tasmania's wilderness for my more adventurous clients.
My advice: go May–October for milder weather across most of the country, though the Reef and tropical north are lovely year-round. Distances are vast, so I always build a well-planned itinerary to make the most of the trip.
